Events Form

The primary purpose of the Events form is to enter scores into the database. It also allows the gymnast data to be edited.

Overview

There is no menu for displaying the Events form. It is displayed whenever a single gymnast is selected. The purpose of the main form is to display groups of gymnasts and select one.

The Events form is displayed as soon as an individual gymnast has been selected. Note that events are dependent on gender. Only the events required are displayed.

Objects

Number textbox

A unique number is assigned to each gymnast. It can be used as a quick means of referencing each gymnast or it can be ignored. This number cannot be changed.

Last Name textbox

The gymnast's last name is displayed. The name may be edited in this field.

First Name textbox

The gymnast's first name is displayed. The name may be edited in this field.

Team textbox

The gymnast's team initials are displayed. Another team may be selected in case the gymnast was entered with the wrong team.

Gender textbox

The gymnast's gender is displayed. The gender may be switched in case the gymnast was entered with the wrong gender.

Update button

The Update button changes the name, team and gender in the database to match the information displayed on the form.

Reset button (upper)

The upper Reset button changes the name, team and gender displayed on the form to match the database. It is particularly useful if you start to edit this information but change your mind before you click Update.

Event Score textbox

Enter or edit each event score in the appropriate text box. One or several events may be entered at one time. The particular events displayed depend on the gender of the gymnast. The gender can be changed during the meet without loosing previously entered scores. (Note: If you are having trouble deciding whether the gymnast should be entered as male or female, this program cannot help you.)

A dash (-) or hyphen is used to designate an event which the gymnast does not intend to compete.

Ok button

The Ok button saves the scores that have been entered and closes the Events form.

Reset button (lower)

The lower Reset button restores the information in each event textbox to match the data in the database. This is particularly useful if you start to change one or more scores but change your mind before you click Ok.

Cancel button

The Cancel button closes the Events form without saving any changes in scores or gymnast name, team, or gender.
