Create a data file

All of the information about a meet is stored in a data file. The default data file is naigc.mdb. This file will automatically load the first time the program is used. If you want to use this file then proceed to the next step. If you want to use a different file, or this file has already been used for a meet, then you will have to create a new data file. A good idea would be use the name of the school and the year, for example: osu2001.mdb. The file must have an "mdb" extension.

Click on the File menu then Create new database. (The File menu is in the upper left corner of the form.) In the Create database dialog box, enter the name of the new data file.

Each time the program is started it remembers the last data file that it used and loads that one automatically. If you want to use a different file, either create one or you may load a previously created file by clicking on the File menu then Open. Select a data file from the Open database dialog box.

Next step: Name the meet.
